Mission: To execute unique events providing measurable value adding knowledge and networking opportunities.

Main Event Messages
The evening provided an opportunity for high-level networking, and gave participants a unique insight into the future of communications.

The topic of M2M (Machine to Machine Communication) vs. People to People Communication engaged the thought processing of new potential business opportunities across industries. The case story of insurance companies inquiring about the capabilities to more accurately quote  based on actual vehicle usage, driving style and geographic location through direct M2M communication with customer vehicles was one example on the impact M2M can have on our daily lives.

Or the finance company that is able to remotely track, shut off, re-engage or re-open a vehicle financed by someone holding sub-prime credit status. Or the notion that our refrigerator could automatically notify and order a replacement water filter when needed.  These were all examples of ways M2M can work in the future and the options it creates for firms and their entire logistical pipeline.

All of the above could be reality through LTE (Long Term Evolution, also known as 4G) which NSN is developing in close collaboration with some of the world’s largest telecommunication providers. LTE would enable lightning fast wireless internet connectivity everywhere and with the current parallel developments within M2M communication, the opportunities are almost unlimited.

The LTE chips are visible in their current form, but in time will be able to fit within a space invisible to the human eye. NSN is developing the wireless infrastructure that will be able to connect all these devices and their LTE infrastructure has the potential to revolutionize the way in which we all think of connectivity both in terms of how but certainly also in terms of who, or what will exchange information to better assist  us in our daily lives.
