DSV, DFDS, DanTransport! A child hath many names and DSV is Michael Hansen's baby.

In a time where people don't always stay in one place long, Michael has found his niche in Atlanta and at DSV. This year he celebrates his 25th anniversary with the company.

After training as a Freight Forwarder in Germany, Michael found himself working in places like Bagdad, Iraq and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Then in 1984 Michael and his wife Bente picked up and started a new adventure. This one would bring them to the US of A. Chicago to be exact. DanTransport needed a good man and they found it in him. After 5 years in Chicago, Atlanta was calling his name and Bente and Michael migrated south to open shop in the South. Through the years DanTransport became DFDS and then recently (2006) DSV. Through it all Michael has climbed the ladder and today he is Executive Vice President and leads a staff of 170 in 9 cities across the South and Gulf Coast of the United States. In addition to these cities Michael is also in charge of developing the company's interest in Mexico. According to Michael, "All this was created by my employees and I have never been promoted. I just built everything up as I went along."

In celebration of Michael's 25 years with the company, DSV hosted a lunch party at the office. Vagn Nielsen provided the food which included frikadeller (Danish Meatballs), homemade leverpostej (liver pate), and shrimp cocktails. There were also delicious dessert to enjoy and a cake with the different logos of the company throughout the years. The staff mingled with long time DSV customers and vendors along with the large turn out of fellow Danish professionals.

There was a great turn out from the DACC family. In attendace were Steen and Gitte Hagensen of Exhausto, Kaj and Lone Larsen, Peter and Lotte Hansen, Marianne and John Woodyard, Jan Rene (who is the Regional Manager at DSV) and Keri Knudsen, and many others.
